No, we welcome all levels of experience and do our best to provide opportunities for all skill ranges. Currently we are looking to form smaller recreational teams for intermediate and beginners. 


Sparks Soccer Club has scheduled practices Saturday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Jefferson Elementary located at 3770 Utah St in North Park. Please refer to our club calendar to view practice dates. 


Try-outs are only held for players interested in joining the San Diego County Soccer League, which plays on Sundays. This is a competitive league with limited roster spots available. We currently have 1 competitive team with 24 players rostered. 



The Sparks host a variety of social events throughout the year, including team parties, community outreach activities, pride celebrations, and game nights. Keep an eye on our social media and website for upcoming events, and feel free to join us for any gatherings—everyone is welcome!



Club dues are required to be paid by any and all players who participate in Sparks-sponsored teams. This includes, but is not limited to the SDCSL Sunday League and tournaments. 


Club dues are required by players who only participate in Sparks practices after their 3rd practice with the Club. 

 

Club dues are separate from registration fees required for Sparks to enter both league play and tournaments. 

 

Club dues are utilized at the discretion of the Club, as approved by the entire board. These expenses cover the cost of practice fields throughout the year, subsidization of registration expenses for tournaments, Club equipment and gear, as well as allows the Club to front tournament registration costs on behalf of players/teams in order to obtain early bird pricing. 



SDCSL (or Sunday League) registration is paid upfront by the Club in order to secure our team(s) in the League. 


The player cost covers their registration for that particular session only, as each session is run semi-independently. This typically is charged to players at cost of what the Club paid to SDCSL for that session. 

 

Any player rostered on the primary list for their team is required to pay that session's per player fee (see above for current pricing). As of right now, alternates are not required to pay the SDCSL Fee.


Payment Plans are available for both Club Dues and Registration Fees (for both SDCSL and tournaments). 

  • Payment Plans are set up directly with the club treasurer via email at treasurer@sparkssoccer.org. 
  •  Payment Plans for SDCSL (Sunday League) must be paid in full by the completion of the session. 
  •  Payment Plans for tournaments or other Sparks events must be paid in full by the completion of the tournament or event. 
  •  Payment Plans are not available to players who have a current outstanding balance from a prior season or session. 


Club dues are non-refundable but will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
